The Melanoma Foundation of New England’s

1st Annual Melanoma 5k Run/Walk for Hope

Saturday, September 20, 2014 - Waltham High School, Waltham, MA

 

Who:  Runners, walkers and families will participate to honor of those touched by melanoma.  Four time Boston Marathon champion Bill Rodgers will attend as a special guest.

 

What: A 5K run, walk and fun run for kids 10 & under. A post-race celebration with Wally's Wicked Good Ice Cream party, awards, free skin cancer checks and facial scans, raffle, activities and more.

 

Where: Waltham High School, Waltham, MA - RACE COURSE

 

When: Saturday, September 20, 2014, rain or shine. Registration opens at 9:00am, Run/Walk starts at 10:00am, Kids Fun Run at 11:00am.  

 

Why:  Melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer.  Every 50 minutes someone dies from melanoma.  It is the 2nd most common cancer in teens and young adults ages 15-29. However, when caught early it is almost always curable.  All funds raised support the Melanoma Foundation of New England (MFNE). MFNE provides education, prevention and support to help reduce the incidence of melanoma in the New England region. All of its services are free of charge.
