My name is Matthew Schulze and I am the proud member of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) Running team & Team Eleonore Rocks. This year I am training to race 140.6 miles in the Ironman Mont-Tremblant on August 18^th and have decided to do so in support of two great causes. First, I have set a goal to raise $10,000 for DFCI, a premier cancer research hospital that supplies critical funds to the brightest minds in science and the most talented clinicians caring for patients confronting cancer. Secondly, I have agreed to raise an additional $1,200 for the Eleonore Rocks Foundation, an organization that strives to make a positive impact on the lives sick children and their families by donating rocking chairs and providing support services to families.

To help increase support and awareness for these important causes, I will be hosting a silent auction on Friday, April 26th from 6-8:30pm at Tommy  Doyle's in Kendall Square. The fundraiser event, “Ironman Silent Auction”, will be a time to celebrate my upcoming race, raise money and awareness for these cherished causes, and honor the memory of personal family and friends who have been affected by cancer.

Registration for this includes a donation and entry into the 'Ironman Opportunity Drawing' (register before April 22nd beforethe price increases to $15). You are not required to attend  the event to win the 'Ironman Opportunity Drawing'. There will be buffet style appetizers and free non-alcoholic beverages.

UPDATED (4/23): Proceeds from 'Ironman Opportunity Drawing' will go to Boston Children's Hosptal in memory of Martin Richards and the other children who were injured in the Boston Marathon Attack.
