Come join the crowd at the beach:
run a 5K this weekend in Nahant!
$25 online; $30 day of.
PARKING: Nahant is a quaint beachside town which, as you know, means parking is a challenge. August 4th is peak beach season and the place will be bustling.
Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to get to the race on Saturday! Street parking is by permit only and it is strictly enforced. If you park on the street you will be ticketed.
We encourage you to car pool.
Nahant Life Saving Station (NLSS) will have limited parking.
Johnson Elementary School: Parking is located at the school which is on the corner of Castle St and Flash St. This is approximately a 1/2 mile from the NLSS.
Municipal Parking Lot: Additional parking is located on the causeway into Nahant and costs $3 to park. The lot (closest to Tides Restaurant in Nahant) is located about 1/4 mile from the NLSS.
NUMBER PICKUP: Pre-registered runners will find bib numbers posted nearby the number pick-up table. Number pick-up will start at 8:00 a.m. and will end at 9:30 a.m.
RACE DAY REGISTRATION: Race day registration will be $30. Race day registration will end at 9:30 a.m.
WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU: Sunscreen and a towel if you want to enjoy the beach post-race!
IMPORTANT: To ensure the safety of all participants, Roller Blades, skateboards and bicycles are not permitted on the course. Animals are also not permitted on the course. Earphones are not recommended. This is a self-seeded race, please line up according to your actual pace. This is a family-friendly event, baby strollers are welcome, but if you are pushing a baby stroller, please start at the back of the race.
RACE TIMING: The race will be timed by RaceMenu. In order to receive an accurate time, please confirm your bib is clearly visible on the front of your torso.
WATER STATION: There will be one water station along the route at approximately the 1.5 mile mark and one at the start/finish line area. Stay hydrated! Each mile will be clearly marked.
POST RACE FOOD: There will be refreshments at the finish line. There will be plenty for all runners to enjoy.
RESULTS: The results will be posted shortly after the race. Complete results listing at www.racemenu.com
AWARDS: The Awards Ceremony will be held at 11:15 a.m. on race day at the Nahant Life Saving Station. Awards will be given in the following categories—Top 3 overall male and female winners and top 3 in each age group category. Top 3 winners will be taken out of the age group categories. Age groups are 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. All awards will be available for pickup on the day of race.
