Halloween Walk/Run
Trick or treat...
move your feet!



 

DESCRIPTION

October 29, 2022

10:00am-12:00 am

Kick off Halloween with fun a Halloween themed 5k walk/run.  Costumes encouraged.  

Start and finish line at Faith Reform UCC with scenic 3.1 loop miles of road and groomed trail.  Walk, run or creep along the Landingville portion of Schuylkill River Trail.

START TIMES

Race Format: Open starting line: start anytime between 10:00am-10:30am.   All racers will be scored off of chip time measured from your individual start time to your finish time.  To be considered for age awards you must cross the finish line before 11:00am

Costs

Preregistration

Adults 18 years old and up: $25

*Children 17 years old and below: $15

Group/Team Rate: $85 for four registrants

*Children under 10 can race with an adult at no fee/registration but will not receive a timing bib, t-shirt or race time prizes.  All are eligible for costume prizes.

 

Day of registration (available 8:45 am-9:45 am)

Adults 18 years old and up: $30

*Children 17 years old and below: $15

No group rates day of race

 

**If federal or state health guidelines change and force an event cancellation, all in person registrants will transfer to virtual option. Registration fees are not reimbursable.

 

 

What registration gets you

Register by October 1, 2022 to be guaranteed a Spooky Schuylkill 5k race shirt, chip timed bib, professionally timed results, and refreshments.

T-shirts for first 200 registrants registered by October 1st or until sold out (sizes after October 1st cannot be guaranteed)

Awards and Prizes

1st and 2nd place prizes will be awarded to overall top male and female runners and age group division winners. (1st and 2nd Male and Female for 14 years old and under; 15 -19 ; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60+)

Several costume categories (adult, children, group, dog)

Awards announced by 11:05 at finish line pavilion 

Results and Timing Information

Race timing conducted by Second Wind Timing with results available at the finish line and emailed to the registered address.  Bibs are chipped for accurate times from start to finish!


Weather

Event is rain or shine, so dress appropriately.  There is no gear check but parking is close to check in and starting line.

Sorry, race fees are not refundable.

 

Dogs 

Dogs are welcome and encouraged to dress up.  Dogs must be comfortable around humans and other dogs and must be leashed at all times.

All proceeds benefit Schuylkill County’s VISION (VISION).  VISION creates and supports community collaboration in Schuylkill County, PA; serving the people of Schuylkill County since 1998. Our mission is to mobilize community resources to help create a better present, and future, for Schuylkill County.

VISION cultivates partnerships, activates resources, and empowers the residents of Schuylkill County. In 2020-2021 VISION and our community partners have maintained 2 community gardens; participated in the Schuylkill Suicide Prevention Task Force; supported parks and walking policies and programs (Schuylkill on the Move, PA WalkWorks); engaged students from all of the County high schools in the Youth Summit; highlighted county artists at Block of Art; collaborated to decrease the impacts of opioid (and other substances) misuse on the Schuylkill County REACH (Opioid Overdose Task Force), and St Luke’s Miners’ Opioid Response Grant; and educated all ages about health and wellness throughout the county with LVHN Schuylkill’s Healthy Schuylkill Communities and the ACHIEVE Program.
