six events raising thousands of dollars for cancer charities.
We proudly present FirstGiving RACES, a series of six Boston-area events for anyone wishing to run against cancer. Events in the series donate proceeds to the following cancer charities:
LIVESTRONG
Dana Farber Marathon Challenge
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
Runners in our events can use FirstGiving's online fundraising tools to assist in raising even more money for these great causes. We are offering competition awards to runners who consistently finish at the front as well as participation awards for runners who compete in at least five of the six races. We will also have special awards for the top fundraisers for each charity!

Participation Awards:
If you run the entire series (6/6 races), we've got a special prize coming your way - either a jacket, sweatshirt, or something else really cool! Gotta skip one race? We understand - we'll have something (slightly less awesome) for you 5/6 people, too!
Competition Awards:
At the end of the series, there will be an awards ceremony at the Squantum 5 Miler where the Top 5 overall men and women and the Top 3 in each age group will receive prizes. Overall winners will be excluded from age group prizes so more runners will be recognized! Note for Super Sunday runners: both 5K & 10K count for series participation but only the 10K scores points for the series competition.
How Series Scoring Works:
Each race you compete in, you will receive points towards the overall series competition based on your place in the top 50 finishers.
1st place: 50 pts, 2nd place: 49 pts, ... 50th place: 1 pt.
Separately, you will receive points for the Age Group competition based on your finish. Top 20 in the following Age Groups will receive points.
1st place: 20 pts, 2nd place: 19 pts, … 20th place, 1 pt.
18 & Under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+
